Our Story

ripples for kids grew from many parts of my life coming together — a love of Bali, a belief in women supporting women, years spent working with children, and a deep appreciation for the connections that shape a child’s life.

From Bali to the Gulf Coast

My connection to Bali began decades ago, when my sister and I dreamed of building a small woman-owned business rooted in creativity, connection, and support for women. We fell in love with Bali’s colorful artistry, handmade traditions, and the joyful spirit of the people we met there.

Today, ripples for kids continues that connection through the relationships we’ve built with our creative partners, Komang and Fera. Their care, skill, eye for color, and sewing expertise help bring our clothing to life.

All of our clothing is handmade in Bali in small batches. Our dresses are made with traditionally stamped batik fabrics, known for their rich color, beautiful patterns, and handmade variation. Our Sunshine Sets are uniquely Bali as well — bright, playful, comfortable, and easy for children to wear.

Living near Florida’s Gulf Coast often reminds me of Bali: the warmth, the water, the color, and the relaxed feeling of life close to the ocean. ripples for kids brings those worlds together in a way that feels natural to me — handmade in Bali, inspired by Florida’s Gulf Coast, and made for colorful days.

Empowering Kids to Be Themselves

Before creating ripples for kids, I spent many years as a teacher and then as a therapist — work that deepened my belief that children thrive when they feel seen, understood, encouraged, and free to be themselves.

Confidence, connection, creativity, and self-expression are essential parts of childhood. They help children come to know themselves, trust who they are, and feel more secure in the world.

Each ripples style is chosen with children in mind — clothing that feels colorful, comfortable, expressive, and different from what you’ll find everywhere else. I love clothing that invites movement, play, imagination, and individuality.

The Grandma Connection

One of the sweetest parts of selling at beach markets is watching a grandmother spot a color, print, outfit, or little gift that immediately brings a grandchild to mind. She begins telling me about who they are — their personality, favorite colors, sense of humor, and spark.

In those moments, it is clear she is choosing more than clothing. She is choosing something personal, thoughtful, and connected to a child she loves.

So many grandmothers are looking for small ways to stay close, to be remembered, and to feel like a meaningful part of their grandchild’s life. That desire is deeply connected to what I have always valued in my work with children and families: secure relationships, genuine connection, and the feeling of being known and loved.

That is the heart of ripples for kids.

It is about handmade clothing, joyful color, and playful childhood style — but it is also about self-expression, meaningful gifting, and the love that ripples between children and the people who love them.

Thank you for being part of the ripple.
